The Rise of BGS Central School Mirjan

compusThe Pontiff His Holiness Padmabhushana Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharnatha Mahaswamiji of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Mutt established BGS Central School in the year 2004. To date back BGS central school took its origin in 2004 at Kumta town with only 60 students starting from Nursery to II standard with a fleet of 7 teaching and non-teaching staff. BGS central school was relocated to its 6.5 acres of lush green campus at Mirjan, inaugurated by his Holiness Padmabhushana Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharnatha Mahaswamiji in 2008. The School is situated amidst Aganashini river and green fold of mountains adjoining NH66. BGS Central School is a miniature India, aiming at all round development of the child, including the feeling of Patriotism, brotherhood and National Integration.

Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamstana Mutt, with its roots embedded in the folds of time (About 1500 yrs.), is situated on a rocky hill 100 Kms west of Bangalore. The Mutt has been working towards the upliftment of human life and society. Following the Guru-Shishya tradition, the Mutt has been striving hard to elevate mankind slowly but steadily. The Mutt galvanized its activities of social service through educating the people spread throughout the state and nation through Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R), Mandya.

The Mutt’s charitable activities are under the stewardship of present pontiff Jagadguru Sri SriSri Nirmalanandnatha   Swamiji,  72nd in the lineage who ascended the revered seat in 2013.

The trust is one of the finest centres for learning in India, which includes institutions such as Medical & Engineering Sciences, Pharmacy, Polytechnic, Nursing and Education offering UG and PG programmes. It also hosts a number of Secondary and Senior Secondary School (State Board, CBSE and ICSE).
